DYES & PIGMENTS |
Some of the phenolic chemicals manufactured are used as a building block for various dye intermediates and pigments. and in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients such as Midodrine. It is also used as an intermediate for plastic additives and dyes (yellow pigment).
It can resist weathering in paints and dyes.
Chloranil
Chloranil is a quinone also known as tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone, is a yellow solid. Like the parent benzoquinone, chloranil is a planar molecule that functions as a mild oxidant. Chloranil is used as an oxidizing agent, dye intermediate, vulcanizing agent, dehydrogenation reagent, and veterinary topical medication. It is also used as a fungicide in seed treatment and foliar application and to make chloranil electrodes for pH measurements.
