Our 8600 square foot R&D Center at Tarapur, India has three sections which are constantly abuzz with activity:

A synthetic & process development lab. which carries out all the unit operations, high pressure as well as high & extremely low temperature reactions.
An independent pilot plant which supports scale-up activities as well as process engineering studies.
An independent pilot plant which supports scale-up activities as well as process engineering studies.

Our R&D team has developed many new Diphenol-downstream products. Alongside our in-house research, we conduct collaborative research projects with reputed institutes and universities for new product development. The facility is approved by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Technology (DSIRT)

France

Our R&D activities in France focus on the development of natural and functional ingredient technologies for food, nutraceutical, and personal care applications. Operating from Saint-Dolay and Rieux, the facility strengthens CFS’s capabilities in clean-label innovation and nature-based formulation science.

This centre focuses on 2 areas:

Research and formulation of functional ingredient systems derived from algae, plants, minerals, and vegetable fibres.
Development of innovative clean-label solutions that enhance functionality, performance, and sustainability across multiple applications.

Supported by a foundation of over 3,500 formulations, the facility works closely with customers, research partners, and CFS’s global R&D teams to accelerate innovation and product development. Our future focus is on creating next-generation ingredient technologies that combine functionality, sustainability, and consumer-driven innovation.

Belgium

Our R&D activities in Belgium are focused on advancing animal nutrition technologies through application-driven research, technical validation, and product development. Located near the Port of Antwerp, the facility strengthens CFS’s innovation capabilities in animal health, feed efficiency, and performance solutions.

This centre focuses on 2 areas:

Development of innovative nutritional solutions that support animal health, welfare, productivity, and performance across livestock and aquaculture sectors.
Research and validation of specialty technologies that enhance feed quality, nutrient utilization, and overall production outcomes.

Most activities undertaken here are carried out in close collaboration with customers, industry partners, and CFS’s global technical teams. Our future focus is on advancing technologies that enable more sustainable and efficient animal production systems.

VERTICAL INTEGRATION

Power Of Vertical Integration As a leading global producer of antioxidants and vanillin, what makes us, Camlin Fine Sciences, unique is the extent to which we are vertically integrated. Our plant in Ravenna, one of Italy’s largest chemical districts, produces the basic raw material hydroquinone and catechol. Our vertical integration capability then translates it into a wide range of downstream products like TBHQ, BHA, 4-TBC, Guaiacol, etc. Catering to industries as diverse as food, fragrance, pet food, animal nutrition, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals. polymer and biodiesel, to name a few.

This level of vertical integration delivers a big advantage to our customers. They are assured of the stability of our products, its supply, quality, traceability, transparency and competitive pricing that’s hard to match. Not surprisingly, we have grown to become the leading integrated manufacturer of the most preferred traditional food antioxidants available After all, we have everything we need to offer our customers innovative solutions – right from basic raw ingredients to their intermediates and derivatives which either directly form end products or are then used to formulate blends.

Production Facilities

Dahej, India

Camlin Fine Sciences (CFS) has commenced commercial production at its Diphenol manufacturing facility in Dahej, Gujarat on September 21, 2020. The greenfield plant in Dahej, India spread across approximately 15 acres space is set to manufacture Hydroquinone and Catechol. The plant has a capacity of 10,000 MTPA for both Hydroquinone and Catechol. These are the major raw materials for the downstream products of our different business verticals. The facility has opened up avenues to diversify into downstream products for which the work has begun.

CFS is all set to reap the benefits of this greenfield expansion at Dahej in the coming years.

Ravenna, Italy

CFS Europe SpA is one of the world’s leading supplier of diphenols and its derivatives, manufactures with a proprietary technology. Our 43-member strong CFS team operates our 11000 MT fully automated production facility in Ravenna, Italy. Quality assurances and checks are managed through safe and environmental friendly processes. The facility is GMP+ certified for feed additives and premixtures. To satisfy our customers and in accordance with our Group Policy, CFS Europe SpA has an integrated Quality, Safety and Environment Management System.

APPLICATION LABORATORIES

Considering cultures and food eating habits vary with region we had to pay close attention to understanding and developing localized solutions..

So, we set up our applications laboratories in different parts of the world to cater to local needs. Our knowledge pool along with our capabilities paved the way for solutions that meet our customers’ everyday challenges. To add to that, we also invite customers to conduct collaborative application projects to support their product designs for high value and efficient shelf life solutions and nostalgia inspired aroma formulations.
