Vanesse
Many wouldn’t know that natural vanilla is one of the most labour-intensive food on earth which not only makes it an expensive flavour but also scarce. Since access to natural vanilla is restricted, chemical manufacturers took to developing nature-identical vanilla such as vanillin which is food-safe. Seeing the huge potential in nature-identical vanillin, it was introduced in the food and fragrance industry. Expectedly, it got widely used and accepted by flavour manufacturers making it an indispensable, safe raw material in the food additive industry.
Vanesse (pure vanillin) spellbinds you with its rich flavour. Whether you are looking for the sweetest, creamiest notes or a lingering, satisfying fragrance, Vanesse can fulfill both. Carefully developed using Camlin Fine Sciences' efficient, environment-friendly process, Vanesse our pure vanillin matches the global standards of safety and quality. It’s a silent ingredient in your flavor creation that gives your comfort and flexibility to keep on innovating.
Your taste buds will thank you when you choose Vanesse. Trust us for a lifetime companionship.
Evanil
Celebration is an expression of happiness and nothing expresses it better than food. Ethyl Vanillin or EVANIL, a potent flavoring with its many shades keeps the spirit alive, making people smile, bond and spread the laughter.
A more concentrated flavor profile compared to vanillin gives character to your food and a distinct advantage to certain applications like chocolates giving the desired aromatic notes. Evanil produced through the Catechol route is one of the most favored routes of synthesis.
Catechol
CATECHOL
IUPAC Name: Benzene-1,2-diol
Synonym: Pyrocatechol 1,2-Benzenediol, 2-Hydroxyphenol, 1,2-Dihydroxybenzene, o-Benzenediol, o-Dihydroxybenzene
CAS no :120-80-9
EEC no :204-427-5
Molecular Formula: C6H6O2
Molecular Weight: 110.11g/mol
Catechol, also known as pyrocatechol or 1,2-dihydroxybenzene, is an organic compound with the molecular formula C6H4(OH)2. It is the ortho isomer of the three isomeric benzenediols. Catechol is available as flakes and 85% solution in solvents.
Catechol is produced industrially by the hydroxylation of phenol using hydrogen peroxide.
C6H5OH + H2O2 → C6H4(OH)2 + H2O
Guaiacol
Guaiacol
IUPAC Name: 2-Methoxyphenol
Synonym: Pyrocatechol monomethyl ether 1-Hydroxy-2-methoxybenzene
CAS no: 90-05-1
Molecular Formula: C7H8O2
Molecular Weight:124.14 g/mol
Guaiacol is a naturally occurring organic compound known for its flavoring properties. It is clear, colorless to slightly yellow colored liquid (above 28°C) or crystalline solid mass with characteristic aromatic odor.
Guaiacol is manufactured in industry by methylation of pyrocatechol and mainly used as a precursor for synthesis of Vanillin. It is also used in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients, flavoring agents and perfumery products.
Guaiacol may have adverse effect on human health. It is harmful if swallowed, causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation. Guaiacol if released in the environment, will disperse mainly in the water. As it is biodegradable and has a low potential for bioaccumulation, it will not remain persistent in nature.
Veratrole
Name: Veratrole
Chemical Name: 1,2-Dimethoxybenzene
Synonym: Pyrocatechol dimethyl ether ortho-Dimethoxybenzene
Cas no.: 91-16-7
Molecular Formula: C8H10O2
Molecular Weight:138.16 g/mol
Veratrole is a clear colourless liquid (above 22°C). Veratrole is manufactured in industry by methylation of pyrocatechol and used as a precursor for the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients, flavouring agents and perfumery products.
Applications
Used as a building block for various chemical compounds, some of it are as follows:
Agrochemical: Used in the synthesis of fungicide Dimethomorph.
Flavours & Fragrances: Used in the synthesis of flavours and fragrances such as Veratraldehyde, 4-Ethyl veratrole and 4-Propenyl veratrole etc.
Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients: Intermediates prepared from Veratrole are used in the synthesis of various active pharmaceutical ingredients such as Verapamil, Mebevarine, Papevarine, Donepezil & Itopride etc.
Guethol
Name: Guethol
Chemical Name: 2-Ethoxyphenol
Synonym: o-Ethoxyphenol
Cas no.: 94-71-3
Molecular Formula: C8H10O2
Molecular Weight: 138.166 g/mol
Guethol is an aromatic ether in which one of the hydroxy groups has been alkylated to give the corresponding ethyl ether. It is a volatile organic compound and a member of phenols. It derives from a catechol and has a role as a flavouring agent.
4-TBC
4-Tert-butylcatechoI is an organic chemical compound obtained by the butylation of Catechol using Isobutene gas. TBC is available in off-white to amber coloured crystalline solid or flakes. It is mainly used as a polymerization inhibitor or a stabilizer for polymerizable monomers.
TBC is available in different forms such as flakes, 85% in water, 85% in Methanol etc. The use of these in production, transportation or storage of monomers depends on its solubility in a particular monomer. The concentration of TBC in monomers varies from one another, in order to inhibit the polymerization.
TBC is harmful to human health, in contact with skin or if swallowed. It is corrosive and causes severe skin burns and eye damage. It may cause an allergic skin reaction. TBC may have a very toxic and long lasting effect on aquatic life.
