Mixtures with different combinations of organic acids are used for the purpose of preventing or eliminating the presence of fungi (mold) in raw materials such as cereals and grains as well as finished feed intended for animal nutrition susceptible to fungal growth. It should be avoided as it could cause loss in nutritional value and palatability of the food. In addition, toxigenic fungi can produce harmful mycotoxins that can poison both animals and humans.
